It is UNLIKELY. The CDC – that is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – say the following are the symptoms of H1N1 (“swine”) flu:

The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, including 2009 H1N1 and have respiratory symptoms without a fever. Severe illnesses and deaths have occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

No, but you could have a cold, post-nasal drip, step, or other things.

The symptoms of swine flu are a sudden fever (a high body temperature of 38°C/100.4°F or above), and a sudden cough. You also may have: headache, tiredness, chills, aching muscles, limb or joint pain, diarrhea or stomach upset, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, or loss of appetite.

What you most likely been suffering from is a mild case of tonsilitis. With no other symptoms and if the swine flu had not come to be this year what would they think it was without swine flu to blame it on? Everyone is going overboard about swine flu right now. If you have the symptoms then I could see there concern, but this is not swine flu. Please have your parents go to webmd.com and look up swine flu for themselves. Then they can see the symptoms and be happy that you don’t have it. Good luck and God Bless

I had a sore throat a few weeks ago they told me it was the regular flu. Don’t get worried, everybody is going crazy if they just have 1 or 2 symptoms

I’m not sure; this same question has been puzzling scientists since the discovery of the H1N1 strain. However, there are 4 tell-tell signs, that if all are present at any moment, should be a sure sign of having swine flu. All 4 signs have to present themselves in an alloted time of 2 hours; if any 4 of these signs are missing within those 2 hours, then there may be a chance that you do not have the flu.

Sign number 1: Waking up between 6 and 8 in the morning. Even if you have to go to school, waking up between 6 and 8 is one of the signs of having swine flu. H1N1 is a virus that latches itself to the “pons”, the part of your brain that controls sleep. It then “re-wires” the brain in order for you to wake up between 6 and 8 in the morning. (If you want to make sure that you do not have swine flu, one of the first things you must do is try to wake up around 5 in the morning; if you find it hard to wake up, then you should count it as a “yes” in having sign number 1).

Sign number 2: Not remembering if you dreamt last night. As stated before, H1N1 latches itself to the brain, so having difficulty remembering dreams, or if you even had a dream, may be a sign of swine flu.

Sign number 3: When you wake up and go to get off of your bed, if you get off on the left side of your bed, then it may be that you have swine flu. However, there are a few variables that may only allow you to get off on the right side of the bed (like having the left side right next to the wall); if this is the case, then count it as “yes” in having sign number 3.

Sign number 4: Being right handed. It has been proven by several scientific studies, that most of the people in the United States are right handed, so right handed individuals have a higher chance in being infected by H1N1.

These are the four tell-tell signs of having swine flu. I sure hope that you do not have any of these symptoms, but if you do, consult a medical professional IMMEDIATELY! Your medical professional may be able to diagnose your problem and take an immediate course of action in order to reverse the damage already caused by H1N1 to the brain. If immediate action is not taken, then it may be possible that severe damage is done to the pons, and that you may not be able to sleep for the rest of your life. This is highly inconvenient, and may require for you to live in a hospital, where they may be able to induce sleep through tranquilizers.

“Could I have swine flu if i just have a sore throat and no other symptoms?” — It’s very doubtful. A sore throat is a symptom shared by several conditions. Why would your parents focus on swine flu in particular?

I just read that……stuff….. posted by “js159″. There is not one word of truth to it.

you probably ate some bad spinach … no worries …best be safe and get something to prevent it… what you need to do is find an old gypsy woman who will trade goods with you… bring a jar of canned hams and trade it for a vile of unicorns blood … take that vile and mix it with 3/4 cup of vinegar and a tablespoon of NyQuil … microwave on high for 2 1/2 to 3 min…rotate… then microwave for an additional 30 sec to 1 min… then let stand for 2 min… stir …then take the mixture and rub it on your belly once every 3 hours for 7 days… then call your doctor if symptoms persist…
